Sushiela
Born in South India, Sushiela moved to Los Angeles in 1970. Introduced as a child to drawing, painting, and sculpture by her artist mother, she later took up painting of botanicals, inspired by the meticulous drawings of her botanist father.
Also an author and illustrator, Sushiela created between 2001 and 2007 a series of exotic fish paintings using metallic leaf and watercolor on Amate bark paper handmade by the Otomi Indians of Mexico.
